Go to http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp.
Choose your operating system from the list and click “download.” |

When the download dialogue box appears, choose the location you want to save the file to and click “Save.” |

When the download is finished, you can double click on the icon it saved to your computer or click “Open” from the dialogue box. |

The program will open and begin to run itself, but before it can install you will have to select the “I accept the terms in the license agreement” checkbox. Do this and click “Next,” and the installation will begin. |

Select the setup you would prefer, and click “Next” again. Most users, unless they are very familiar with this sort of software, are advised to choose the “typical” installation. |

After this the installation should run smoothly. Note that it will probably take a few minutes to complete, though. When it's finished, you will need to restart your computer, and then you're done. |
