The World Poker Tour will be heading into familiar territory in their upcoming poker season. Three additional events were added to the WPT line-up with stops at the Bellagio, Borgata and Foxwoods being added to the WPT schedule. The new tour additions bring the WPT’s schedule to include 18 poker tournaments and making sure that over 20 poker players will make at least $1 million.
If you are one of the people thinking about playing in one of the many events you should take a look at the World Poker Tour’s schedule, some times have changed. The dates for the WPT Celebrity Invitational have been changed; the original dates for the celebrity poker tournament were the same time as the Academy Awards, causing a conflict for many of the tournaments’ Hollywood poker players.
In addition to scheduling changes, some events have had dates announced. The WPT Ladies Night will start on Aug. 31st at the Bicycle Casino. The new WPT Bounty Hunters is scheduled for April 28, 2007 at the Bellagio.
The WPT Bounty Hunters will feature six of poker’s best players with a bounty on each of them: anyone who knocks one of them out will receive $5,000. When someone succeeds to the next level, the bounty on them increases up to $10,000, and there is a $25,500 WPT Championship ticket on the line.
"We are delighted to confirm these three great new additions to the WPT calendar," said Steve Lipscomb, CEO and founder of the WPT. "It's an action-packed lineup with plenty of opportunity for all World Poker Tour continues to make history with our casino partners and our great contingent of regular and incoming new players. Our growth means growth for poker and for all poker players."
