PokerTek announced today that they have received official certification from Gaming Laboratories International for their PokerPro gaming system and product line. Gaming Laboratories International, Inc. was founded in 1987 and performs machine testing and certification for electronic devices. The PokerPro technology refers to a revolutionary invention that combines live action Poker with computer Poker, increasing hands per hour by 50%.
PokerTek's certification means the company has met the following standards:
• Online Monitoring and Control Systems (MCS) and Validation Systems (GLI-13)
• Cashless System in Casinos (GLI-16)
• Electronic Table Game System (GLI-24)
• Applicable Sections of GLI-11 Gaming Devices in Casinos
The technology is the first Poker Table to function completely electronically and comply with the GLI-24 Electronic Table Game certification. Additionally, the PokerPro table has been certified to be fully compliant for on-line observation of real-time events, reporting, security, accounting and cashless gaming. This means that players can play at the automated Poker tables and the entire system will work without human intervention. All aspects of Poker play are accounted for. The PokerPro technology could be a turnkey solution for the entire Poker industry.
Lou White, Chief Executive Officer of PokerTek said "These GLI certifications should allow even more casino operators to implement automated poker solutions, in an effort to increase both poker room profitability and player satisfaction…GLI's certification of our PokerPro(TM) system further demonstrates PokerTek's leadership in automated poker."
PokerTek's PokerPro technology was also awarded the prestigious Casino Journal 2005 Platinum Award for the Most Innovative Technology Product. The technology should dramatically increase player satisfaction due to increased speed of play, not to mention increasing casino rake due to an increased number of hands played.
