Hollywood Poker was happy to lend a helping hand on Saturday, December 3, 2005 for the first installment of the Charity Poker Gone MADD Tournament Series. Celebrity players participated in an offline charity tournament to raise money for MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers). Celebrities like Vince Van Patten, Dick Van Patten, Jon Favreau, Nick Gonzalez, Willie Garson, Kato Kaelin, Jimmy Van Patten, Billy Burke and Tony Denison rallied at the Bicycle Casino to pit their skills in for a shot at a $35K prize pool and most importantly, a chance to support a worthy cause. Ten percent of the participants' buy-in entry and re-buy for the events goes to MADD to further its mission to stop drunk driving, support victims of this violent crime and to prevent underage drinking. We’re thrilled to announce that Willie Garson finished 6th and Nick Gonzalez finished 3rd overall. Hollywood Poker is the title sponsor in the Hollywood Poker Goes MADD Charity Poker Tournament - a 10 event nation poker tournament supporting MADD. As promised, we’ll be bringing the charity tournaments online for everyone to play. For every offline event, we will host an online tournament to support MADD. Our Hurricane Relief tournaments made it clear that we have the most fantastic and supportive poker community on the net and we want to continue to host more charity events.
