Poker players like to watch poker on television and… well, poker players love the thrill of a good bet.
With so much poker television on the tube, Face Up Hold 'Em will be trying something a little different with their poker programming in efforts grab poker viewers. Face Up Hold 'Em will be a two-hour poker show featured on The Winner Channel, and will allow viewers to bet real-money on how the poker hands play out while watching the show.
Face Up Hold 'Em is be owned and produced by Two Way TV and Zone4Play and will be shown daily on Sky's Poker Zone TV channel. Like any other poker show, viewers will watch the Texas Hold’em action on their television sets, but this time viewers can bet real money on who will win the hand with their IVR. With Face Up Hold 'Em, viewers will get help from the show’s commentators, and winning percentages of each hand will be displayed on the screen.
"The TV show is a great piece of entertainment for all types of poker players,” explained Jean de Fougerolles, Two Way TV's chief executive officer. “By showing the strength of each hand as the game is played, even seasoned players will learn a thing or two - for example, it's revealing to see how dramatically the strength of a great opening hand, like a King / Ace can change when another King appears in one or your opponents' pocket cards. You just don't get this in regular poker shows."
The producers of Face Up Hold 'Em believe their show will help people with their own home poker game, by allowing them to be a part of the poker television show.
"Innovation, usability and entertainment are the essential ingredients of any successful betting TV show. We are confident that our unique poker game will be hugely popular with Poker Zone television viewers," explained the Face Up Hold 'Em producers.
