The Borgata, in Atlantic City, NJ, will make its WPT televised debut in the upcoming poker television season. The poker tournament’s organizers are going to make sure this poker event is one to remember. The Texas Hold’em Poker tournament will follow a different format than many other WPT events by offering players a spot in one of four Professional Poker Tour (PPT) freeroll tournaments, with a total prize of $2 million up for grabs.
However, this prize will not be an easy one to capture; there are 265 of the poker world’s best Hold’em players trying their luck at this World Poker Tour event. The line-up is interesting for any WPT fan – the event has some familiar poker faces and also has some of poker’s most up-and-coming professional poker players. Players at the Borgata’s poker tournament could find themselves up against poker stars like Gavin Smith, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Joseph Hachem, Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey, and Daniel Negreanu.
There is a lot on the line at any WPT event – more than the poker prize. The success a professional poker player has during a WPT season determines how much action they get in the following season.
With a huge pot, great competition, and reputations on the line, The Borgata will host some great World Poker Tour action this year.
