The eyes of the poker world are focused on the Bellagio Casino. With 605 of the best poker players around the world and a record prize pool of $15,125,000, the World Poker Tour World Championship pulled out all the stops. The $25,500 buy-in for the tournament did not scare people away. The tournament brought people in from many of the 147 countries that the tournament is televised to via the Travel Channel. The $3.7 million prize offered to the tournament’s winner and $1 million prize for the final three also helped lure people to the Vegas tournament. "The WPT World Championship is considered the toughest tournament in the world to win if you consider the caliber of the competitors," explained Steve Lipscomb, the founder and CEO of WPT Enterprises, Inc. "At a cost of $25,500 to get to the table, you have to be a very accomplished poker player. You've either built a very solid bankroll or you've outlasted thousands in satellite tournaments. No doubt this Final Table will be a cliffhanger." The competition at this year’s WPT World Championship will be as stiff as ever. Defending champion Tuan Le will be hoping for some good cards if he looks through the impressive list of poker players in the tournament. Poker greats like T.J. Cloutier, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Doyle Brunson, Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari, Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negreanu, Scotty Nguyen, Erick Lindgren, David Williams, Allen Cunningham, Men "The Master" Nguyen and Phil Ivey will be sitting at the poker tournament’s tables. The final table will be played on Monday, April 24th at 4 pm. If you can’t make your way to Las Vegas to watch the tournament you can view this tournament and other WPT events on the Travel Channel every Wednesday night a 9 PM EST.
