Remember Dan Eads? Maybe you remember him better as Danamal007. He won our WPT Bellagio Celebrity Shootout back in December. Well, Dan was our man at the Bellagio 5 Diamond Poker Tournament in Las Vegas, and here's what he had to say. "Even though I got knocked out on Day One I didn't tell my boss that, so I stayed longer. I just didn't want to leave the Bellagio. The room was awesome with a 12th floor lakeside view so I could watch the water show." And what about the poker? Well..."My pocket Aces got cracked for most of my stack early, and then my all in move with pocket Jacks gets a call from Scott Lazar who wakes up in the big blind with pocket Kings to end my professional debut before it really even got started ... I took a little comfort in the fact that 139 other players were knocked out on day one, many of them before me, and a few of them some of the top name professionals like Johnny Chan and Ted Forrest." Ok, so what then?"I immediately went to the nearest bar and started drowning my sorrows and crying to the bartender who tried very hard to cheer me up. Then I went back to watch the action and thought about what would have have been if my damn pocket aces just held up. It was just too awesome being elbow to elbow with ALL the big name pros that I have been watching on TV for the past two years (and one celebrity, Tobey Maguire who is a lot smaller in person than he looks when you see him playing Spiderman in the movies). Every time I pushed my chair back from the table, it would bump into the chair of T.J. Cloutier. Standing outside the poker room after players were getting knocked out, you heard more bad beat stories and whining, it would make Phil Helmuth look like a boyscout." Any plans or strategies for your triumphant return to the WPT? "I told everyone that this was a once in a lifetime experience, but now that I have tasted what it is like, I will be there again ... I'm looking forward to playing some more qualifying tournaments on Hollywood Poker." Congratulations to Dan for his efforts at the Bellagio 5 Diamond Poker Tournament, and our warm thanks for carrying the Hollywood Poker banner into the fray. Remember, it's not about winning, it's about... well, fine, maybe it is about winning. But hey, fun is good too.
