Harrison Gimbel took down the 2011 Carribean Adventure Grand Finale in the Bahamas. A total of 1,529 players created a $14,831,300 prize pool with Gimbel taking home $2,200,000 for the win.
Gimbel is more of an online poker player, but was confident when he went into this live final. Being only nineteen years old, he is the youngest Carribean Adventure champion in history. On the second day of the poker tournament, he won over Barry Greenstein's aces with 6-4 offsuit, all-in pre-flop.
Gimbel went into the final heads-up with Ty Reiman, who was leading with around 28 million chips to Gimbel's 17 miliion. After 25 minutes, it was the other way around. Gimbel went up to about 28 million with Reiman down to around 17 million. Amidst some minor swings, Gimbel was resolved to never give up his chip lead.
On the final hand, Reiman raised to 620,000 and Gimbel re-raised to 1.8 million. Reiman immediately went all-in. Gimbel went for a count somewhere around ten million. Gimbel called with ThTc with Reiman's 8d8c. The flop gave away Td6d2h while the turn showed 8h and river, Js. Harrison Gimbel then became the latest and youngest Carribean Adventure champion, winning $2,200,000.
