Porto Carras Grand Ressort, Greece Grand Series of Poker Live 2 Greece circuit has crowned a new champion with Serio Marti Aguilar taking home 78,447 worth of bounty in the record breaking GSOP live event.
The heads-up was quick as it was thrilling. Spain's pride Sergio Marti Aguilar reigned over Bulgarian Stefan Genchev at the final table. Aguilar three-bet to 1.5 million and Genchev quickly went all-in, with Aguilar making the call and tabling [A♥][K♠] versus the Bulgarian's [K♥][Q♦]. With a deafening silence covering the venue, the dealer turned over a flop of [K♣][J♣][3♦], bringing higher winning chances to Aguilar; and when the [8♣] was set, the Spaniard was just one card away from taking home the first prize. Cheers of "Vamos!" from Aguilar's friends dominated on the area as the card dealer reveals [K♦], crowning Sergio Marti Aguilar as the new champion of GSOP Live Greece. The two players cordially embraced each other before collecting their cash prizes Genchev pocketed the second place prize worth 50,512.
