Hollywood Hills
Everyone has something to hide – a part of themselves that no one else knows about. The HP crew is no exception. One member in particular had a secret so deep, so stunning and so unexpected that when it was unleashed, Hollywood Hills would never be the same. Or at least Mike’s love life would never be the same.
Jeff, HP’s quiet Developer, never made much of a stir. His days were tirelessly dedicated to his work. No one would have guessed that this reserved man lived a double life – that aside from being a valued member of the HP crew, he was also an elusive superhero; a Cadillac among men if you will. But it wasn’t a cat in a tree or purse theft that sprung Jeff into action. No, this man’s power lay in another realm altogether. Jeff was a lover, not a fighter. His superhuman powers resided in romance. His kryptonite was men with bad pick-up lines.
After watching Mike struggle under the weight of his romantic indecision about his new online love interest, hotpokergirl, he decided to offer his extraordinary services to the suffering youth.
Jeff understood that men are not always receptive to advice, so he decided to utilize the element of surprise. He waited for the right moment and when it came, he seized it.
It took place in the bathroom. Jeff approached Mike at the urinal. “Come, my son” Jeff began “I will teach you how to speak the language of love with authority and fluency.”
Mike was confused. Jeff continued.
“I’ve seen your pain and I think I can help you – that is, if you are ready.” Jeff interpreted Mike’s wide-eyed silent stare as willingness.
“Your woman dilemma. I see how it consumes you. You’re on fire! You’re burning with passion! Go to this hotpokergirl! Seize her! Carpe diem! A man with no regrets is a man who has truly lived!”
By the time Jeff was done his heart-felt oration and opened his eyes, Mike was gone – and he hadn’t flushed the urinal.
Back at his desk, Mike had made a decision about hotpokergirl though. While he hadn’t really listened to Jeff’s speech, he was inspired by the passionate delivery. He was going to contact her. He was going to ask her on a date – the ultimate date.
The anticipation is almost too much, I know, but you’ll have to wait until next week to find out what happens. The good news is that YOU get to decide, so cast your vote to determine if...
a) This hotpokergirl is not interested in Mike. All efforts have been in vain. b) Hotpokergirl is interested, but the entire HP crew decides to make an appearance on the big night. Humilation ensues. c) A HP player contacts Mike with scandalous information about hotpokergirl. An intrigue begins!

My name is Tommy. I'm a 21year college student who enjoys competitive sports. My favorite game is poker and I've been playing it for over a year now. I've come across a few internet sites but not one has held my attention like Hollywood Poker. The live support is always friendly and willing to help. Also, the people who play at Hollywood Poker are nice and fun to talk to. Playing with celebrities is always a plus - especially when there is a $100 bounty on their head in the Michael Woods Celebrity Invitational. Some people complain about bad beats, but that's what poker is about. If there weren't bad beats, then we would all be rich professionals playing in the WSOP. I'd like to thank the HP team, and all of the friendly people in the lobby. Best of luck and I’ll see you all at the tables!
Remember: You can't win what you don’t put in, but you can't lose it either. That’s gambling!

This week’s topic: Very superstitious. Do you bring good-luck trinkets to the table? Do you have a pre-game ritual?
Congratulations to last week’s Write to Win champion, MinnesotaRon!
Here’s his winning entry:
Tilt
tilt, tilt, horrible tilt the more we stew the more we wilt
the more we wilt the more they thrive so get off tilt to stay alive

Vince Van Patten’s Corner: My Influences
There have been three people who have been significant poker influences in my life and while they are all significant for different reasons, they are equally important.
My first influence was my father, Dick Van Patten. He started teaching me how to play at age 9. He taught me how to be patient at a table, how to always expect the worst and he also taught me to hate to lose. The second major influence was Doyle Brunson. About twenty years ago, I read his book, Super System: A Course in Power Poker, and it gave me some tools I needed to be a winning poker player. My final influence is my good friend Jimmy Woods. His true and immediate passion to the game and his genuine excitement is absolutely inspirational.
