Hot Pursuit: Knock-out Hollywood Poker Starlets & You Could Go to Spain!
Thanks to our Progressive Celebrity Bounties, being in the company of beautiful women has never been more rewarding.
Every week we host 3 Celebrity tournaments that attract some of the biggest names (and hottest ladies) in Tinsel Town. The action starts on Tuesday night at 10pm EST with Celebrity Poker Night which boasts a different Celebrity Host every week. Our Starlets have been among the most popular hosts. Mimi Rogers entertained the lobby with stories about her life on the set and her upcoming projects. Kelly Hu was equally impressive, both charming and ruthless at the tables.
Our next Celebrity Tournament rolls around on Thursday at 10pm EST. The Michael Woods Invitational is one of the longest running and most popular tournaments at Hollywood Poker. We’ve added $500 to the prize pool and with record Celebrity attendance, players have even better odds of scoring a coveted Celebrity Bounty.
The week wraps up on Sunday at 2pm EST with the Hollywood Poker Celebrity Classic. We’ve also added $500 to this tournament and jacked it up with a solid Celebrity turnout. Some of the regulars include Donnie Wahlberg, Ronny Cox, Yancey Arias, Pamela Gidley and Nicole Sullivan.
When you score Celebrity Bounties in any of these 3 weekly tournaments, you’ll be rewarded with prizes ranging from $25 cash and Hollywood Poker merchandise to a $5,200 seat in the $5,000,000 Ongame Poker Classic!
Still not hot enough? The good news is the 2006 Hollywood Poker Girls are more than ready to spice things up. 12 of the sexiest poker hostesses regularly take to the tables at these Celebrity events – and trust us: Competition has never looked so good.
Get in while it’s hot!

Words from Vince Van Patten, WPT Host & Commentator
Never put down anyone's play at the table. It's the worst thing you could possibly do. They are gambling with their own money and you have no right to insult the way they play.

Player Spotlight: Meet Al N Smithee!
You think you know a guy . . . and he either turns out to be better (or worse) than you figured. For better, or worse, here I am Al N Smithee. I did a player spotlight when I first arrived here, but that was a long time ago AND it wasn't really 'auto-biographical'. Probably still bouncing around in the archives somewhere. As I recall, it may be worthwhile looking up, but then again it may not. So I'll leave that up to you. In any event, I thought I'd take a few lines here to give you a little more insight into the man behind the facade. Actually, I am pretty much like Al N Smithee. Upfront with my thoughts and opinions. Willing to 'adjust' them if someone can make a convincing enough argument for my reconsideration of them - though that's not easy, ask Skallagrim45. I've altered a bit of my views through our debates, Skall's and mine that is, but not often and I think he will admit as to having to work at it a bit for me to have done so. I am 52 and been playing poker for 2.5 years now. Was introduced to it by my son, Michael, 33, who is the REAL poker player in the family. My youngest daughter, Sarah, 13, is the other. Some of you maybe have met her, but that's all I'm saying here. I have another son, Chip (George the III actually. I didn't like my name - mostly being it contained the suffix 'Junior' - so I named him after my father instead). Rounding out the family are my other daughters, Katharine 23, Elisabeth and Leigh-Anne both 18 (yes, twins . . . fraternal as that is usually the answer to the next question whenever I say the word: Twins). Last, but not least is my wife, Susan. That's the immediate family. Extended includes my daughter-in-law, Chip's wife Emily, and my only grandchild - so far - Zoey, 8 mths. We all live in Bowling Green, KY. Have for the last 13 years. Eastern PA, Easton before that, but grew up in NJ. Have been mostly self-employed my whole life. Ran a small precision ceramic Machining and manufacturing company for 15 years before that. Currently working on a great project with Da-Duck. You all should ask him about it. I am a virtually unpublished writer, though that is a temporary situation also - been temporary since I was a teen. Anyway, enough about me . . . what do YOU think of me? (Sorry, love this line. Always looking for an opportunity to use it. Not my 'line' but a friend of mine's comment after describing the dinner conversation and personality of a blind date she had just came home from. But, I love it as it is VERY descriptive of a certain type of personality. Maybe it IS apt here?) As far as poker goes, I've only really played just Texas Hold'em - MOSTLY No-Limit - since I started playing. Been playing OMAHA (mostly PL and NOT hi/lo or OH8) for about 3 months now. I've become pretty good at Omaha nearly overnight. Not as good as many THINK I am, but good enough I can get away with letting them think that - which works well for me. But, I have shown some folks the little I do really understand about the game - at least as how it is played on the lower limit tables - and have had them come back to me telling me they are making regular money at it using my advice. A couple even at extremely - at least for me - higher limit tables as well. So maybe I am a little better than I think at it . . . but that is also a good state for me to be - NOT thinking I am THAT good, just good. I play, as many do, several other sites which I won't name here except to say one will not let us 'Free' Americans play there, or even just LOG ON, because of pending legislation in Washington. As you all know - and much has been posted here on it - this legislation IS a REAL threat to on-line poker and as such should be taken seriously to all who wish to continue playing on-line. My suggestion, is to VOTE OUT of office in November anyone up for re-election that voted FOR this legislation in the House so that the Senate will sit up and take notice of the consequences BEFORE they get to vote on it probably early in 2007. So much for the political portion of this 'Spotlight'. As far as Hollywood Poker goes . . . I have the reputation, deserved or not, of being the 'authorized' Master Spammer here in the lobbies. I do that solely to advance Hollywood Poker Tourneys, one of which I am very proud of as YOU ALL - and with some GREAT Hollywood Poker support -have helped to make into a very desirable tourney event to play in: The Al N Smithee Early Outer Series of Tourneys AND Monthly Points Race. In short, as most of you already know (did I mention the 'spam'?) The ANS EO's follow the starting times of all 3 weekly Hollywood Poker Celebrity Tournaments that offer Celebrity Bounties (MWCI, HPCC, CPNW - look up the expanded acronyms on the website or ask anyone) by one hour and five minutes. They were originally designed to accomodate those of us finding ourselves 'out early' from those events, or arriving too late for the start of them, BUT NOW seem to attract folks still IN those events or for whatever reason don't play them at all.
Thanks to EVERYONE's efforts, these private, 'secondary' MTT's (Multi-Table Tourneys) have taken on a life of their own. Rather than rehash ALL the info here for those of you already familiar with it, I'll place a link here for you to follow to an excellent post that should have all the info you need: http://forum.hollywoodpoker.com/showthread.php?t=6940 Other tournaments here that are also 'private' but I would recommend you look into are Da-Duck's Hags vs Hogs Sunday afternoons and SamSal's Monday Nights'. Same caliber folks seem to gravitate toward all of these making them all fun and challenging events. Well, not sure what else you would all find interesting about me or how much more room I should take, so best thing for you to do if there is anything else you would like to know about me . . . just ask. Thought some of you newer folks here might enjoy a quick 'primer' on Al N Smithee. Besides, I get a STAR and Hollywood Poker gear for this, so it was well worth MY time to write it. Hopefully was worth YOURS also to have read it. If not . . . oh well . . . maybe I saved you from a loss at the tables in the last 5 minutes. Who knows? You're welcome anyway - just in case I did. ~George 'Al N Smithee' Ellis
