Poker World: The Poker Connection!

Poker is spreading like wildfire through much of the world and it's bringing people together. Always willing to follow suit on a good thing, Hollywood Poker is going global - and we're taking you with us. From the bright lights of Vegas to the streets of sunny Spain, Hollywood Poker’s getting ready to send players to some of the hottest events in Poker history.

As our own Celebrity Player Vince Van Patten said in his blog, poker’s spread across the ocean and there are “new faces becoming famous everyday. You would not believe how many online players are striking it rich going from online poker to casino poker. It’s just amazing.”

We’re kicking it off in the good old US of A at the WSOP. The Hollywood Poker Team will be at there in full force, fronted by Vince Van Patten, James Woods and the Hollywood Poker Girls. They’ll all be there to welcome the players who won their way into the main event in our series of WSOP Tournaments.

Not to be outdone, the $5,000,000 Ongame Poker Classic also promises to take online live by sending 45 players to an event in Barcelona, Spain – and since we’ve just announced there are even more ways to enter this historical poker event, you’re odds at seeing action at the final table have never looked so good. Just over a week ago we announced that in addition to buying in or winning your way in through Sit ‘n’ Go satellite qualifiers, you can now also win a seat through the Midnight Oil, Plus $500 or Lucky Dollar $2,500 tournaments.

Celebrity News: Mitch Allan Teams Up with American Idol!

Singer/songwriter, Mitch Allan, will be teaming up with Chris Daughtry from Amercian Idol on his newest CD. In addition to being one of the most celebrated musicians at Hollywood Poker, Mitch will also be hosting Celebrity Poker Night on Tuesday, July 11th at 10pm EST.

Player Spotlight: Meet Sinatra74!

Hello everyone. My name is Ryan Sayer or some of you may know me better as Sinatra74. When I was a young lad back in upstate New York I was once in a local commercial for a friend of my family. Hollywood Poker refuses to put a star under my name and give me the coveted red font. So I have to settle for a chance to be in the Player Spotlight to cap off my fifteen minutes.

I was born the son of a sharecropper in rural Iowa. My father was a wheat farmer and my mother made butter for the local townsfolk. Alright that’s not completely accurate. I’ve never even actually been to Iowa.  I was born in Syracuse, NY, in 1974, on February 21st. What a day that was for our world. I’ve lived all over and up and down the east coast. Syracuse, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Hoboken, and Boca Raton just to name a few. I finally settled on Phoenix, Arizona. Chandler to be exact. I have been here for six years now and yes it does get hotttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt! But you don’t have to shovel heat. I think if I see one more snowflake I might go nutty.

Four years ago I got married to wonderful woman whose name is Christina. She has to put up with me and deserves many medals for it. We are expecting our first child any week now. Most likely sometime after July 10th we could be parents any day. It is a boy and we have chosen the name Preston Edward.  Some have scoffed at our choice but I like it. Preston Edward Sayer sounds very presidential so he should grow up to be the leader of the free world hopefully.

I am the Compliance Manager for the largest transportation company in Arizona. Sounds boring but it isn’t, I get to deal with the government all day so that can have its moments.

Now lets give Hollywood Poker some love. I love Hollywood Poker. I have played at many other sites and always ended up coming back to Hollywood Poker. Now I play here exclusively. They have the best tourneys and people. The celebrity factor has put them ahead of every other site. Hollywood Poker is the only site I have seen that seems to take any kind of active interest in its players. I think what sets Hollywood Poker far and away above the rest is their outstanding customer service staff. At other poker sites I have had issues that I never received any response about and had to eat my loss. At Hollywood Poker they take care of you quickly and if they can’t fix it, they make it up to you with tickets and such. I also have enjoyed all the people I have met here. Some of the nicest around.  I think Hollywood Poker has the best members of any site out there. That’s not just because I’m here.

I’m not the best poker player here nor am I the worst. I may never be at the WSOP final table, but I’ve been to a Celebrity Classic final table a few times and that’s just fine for me. So if you see me at the tables please fold to me. I have a baby coming for crying out loud, he needs the cash more than you. Have fun everyone. See you out there!
