After all, the Michael Woods Invitational is the source of non-stop action! Last week, our very own Vince Van Patten and James Woods went head to head with Vince ultimately knocking his buddy James out.

When I ask him about beating James, Vince confesses that “it was a matter of timing. You know – being brought up against the wrong player at the wrong time”.

He laughs. “Exactly. But keep in mind, James and I both played on the E-channel show a while back and he took a couple good draws against me”.

This week’s Player Spotlight: KGANT63!

I’m driving in to work one morning at 7:30 am drinking coffee, smoking a cigarette, talking on the phone and listening to the radio when the DJ says James Woods is going to be the guest. I’m a fan of his so I tell my wife (who I’m talking to on the phone) that I have to let her go so I can listen to the radio.

James comes on and starts talking about this website, HollywoodPoker.com, and how great it is, etc. At this point in the interview I am pulling into the parking lot at work and since I’m not in any rush, I sit and listen to him talk about the site.

When the interview is over I get out of my truck and my boss pulls up next to me (I’m not a fan of his). He looks at me as he drives past with that look your dad gave you when came home an hour late.

So, I get to my desk and all I’m thinking about is checking out this website. In the past year, all my poker buddies have moved away or are married and don’t have time for our bi-weekly game.

Lunch time rolls around I get on the net to check HollywoodPoker.com out. I sign up, then I sign off - I wouldn’t want to play on company time (wink, wink).

About an hour later I go into the boss’ office to drop off some paperwork he wants and he’s not there. I go to set it on his desk and what do I see on his screen? You guessed it: HollywoodPoker.com. I smile and as I turn to walk out, he walks in, looks at me and asks, “Um, can I help you?”

I answer, “No sir” but as I reach his door I turn around and add: “Sir, my handle is KGANT63. I’ll be on tonight. Want to play?”

He replies, “See you at 7”.

Now the bi-weekly poker game is back on and my boss plays with my buddies and I. If we can’t make it to one of our houses, we meet at HollywoodPoker.com and setup a private room to play.

I am a seasoned gambler and I enjoy poker the most out of all games. I have played in over 50 casinos in many different countries and although almost all have something that makes them excel in an area, I found one that I truly love: THE MIRAGE.

There’s a tram in the Mirage to the Treasure Island Casino to watch the famous Pirate show. There's a volcano that erupts just down the street. I could go on and on! Vegas is full of free entertainment.

Vince Van Patten's Tip

I’ve been looking forward to HollywoodPoker.com’s WSOP Weekend for awhile and can’t wait to play in the Celebrity Shootout on Saturday. I’ll be playing my A game because I really want to walk away with the big prize. This is all or nothing for me!

I’ll definitely be there to win, so the best advice I can give you is to stay out of my pots!
