Vince Van Patten: The busy life of a true poker enthusiast
What has Vince Van Patten been up to recently? In short: Everything. Well, just about everything. Vince is completely entrenched (not to mention passionately involved) in the poker world. During a recent conversation, he gave me the rundown of his activities: Hosting the World Poker Tour, an appearance on Court TV in which he spoke about HollywoodPoker.com, playing in Hollywood home games, getting prepared to play in no less than FOUR world-class poker events in the next few months, co-writing three poker related mystery books, and of course, playing poker with the fine people at HollywoodPoker.com. In fact, last week he played in the Michael Woods Invitational and was nothing short of delighted by the skill, enthusiasm, and sheer friendliness of his fellow players; though he did admit that his desire to chat with other players coupled with being a bit computer shy doesn’t bode well for his game.
“It’s so great to talk to the players,” Vince told me cheerfully, “but it’s hard to keep up a conversation and play my A game!” He chuckles as he makes this confession and he doesn’t strike me as particularly troubled by it. Why would he be? His not quite A game is doubtlessly still phenomenal.
So, where can you catch Vince next? At HollywoodPoker.com of course, as well as hosting the World Poker Tour Season III at the Commerce Casino in L.A. He will also be at the famed Night of 100 Stars. “There will be way more than 100” Vince laughs, “and you can’t get a better place to have the Night of 100 Stars than the Beverly Hills Hotel – it’s incredible”. Evidently, Vince is a busy man, but fear not, he maintains that “the people [at HollywoodPoker.com] are top-notch. I really enjoy playing at the site”. There will be no shortage of Vince at the HollywoodPoker.com tables, so make sure you logon to join him! To stay current on Vince’s poker related activities, keep checking the site – or better yet, get to the tables and ask him yourself!
