We kicked-off 2007 in true Hollywood style with big names and big money in the $25,000 Walk of Fame Freeroll. Over 90 players rubbed elbows and went head to head with Stars like Pamela Gidley (Twin Peaks, The Pretender), Yancey Arias (CSI: Miami, Thief) and Ken Howard (Crossing Jordan, The West Wing). In the end, Beau Hunk beat out some tough competition and snagged first place – not to mention a hefty sum of cash. This incredible event was reserved for Walk of Fame members and Celebrities only. Other perks that come with this status include entry into $20,000 in other annual events, complimentary tickets to all major freerolls, an extra tournament ticket each month, a customized Walk of Fame polo shirt and much more.
The best part is you don’t have to be a ready-made Star to reap these VIP rewards. If you’re serious about poker, you’re

Life’s full of tough calls. If you need some advice from a trusted source, drop our Poker Coach a line. He’s poker savvy, smart and here to help.
John asks: Should I use the river trap a lot or just some times?
Coach: I can't give you a catch-all answer. Simply put, it depends.
Trapping on the river is a good idea if your hand isn't vulnerable and especially if your opponents aren't inclined to fold at that point in the hand. Some of the downsides of waiting until fifth-street to spring your trap are that: (1) you can’t protect your good hands (if they are not the nuts) and (2) sometimes your opponent will be on a draw and would probably call a raise on the turn to see if they hit. Another problem with always waiting until the river to raise your hand is that observant opponents will realize what you're doing and will stop betting/calling on the river when you call the turn. This ends up defeating the point of trapping.
So my suggestion is to mix it up. Don’t wait until the river to spring traps every time. When there's plenty of action and your hand isn't vulnerable, that’s a good time to wait until the river to raise. When you are likely to significantly increase the action by raising, or when you need to protect your hand against draws, that's a time when raising on the flop or the turn would be advisable.
In no-limit games, especially when you're against observant opponents, you should never try to play a set strategy. That way you don't become predictable.
Good luck at the tables!
