In this week’s Spotlight, meet Da-Duck! Hidey Ho Hollywood Poker Pokerites and Duckettes. It’s about time I brought a little class and a lot of brass to this forum. I am a very distinguished duck and a fowl of many feathers. This is necessary as there is an Army of Elmer Fudd wannabes out to pluck me. So I have a rather unusual array of feathers such as ‘Camo’, ‘Urban Camo’ and ‘Stealth’. The latter are labeled MADE BY ACME and I got them at a discount from a shady looking Coyote. I must say that we have a great time here at Hollywood Poker. This has truly became a community of some rather strange (see the nicknames) but friendly people. Oh yeah, this is a poker site. If there is one thing I have learned in my 54 years waddling around this earth, it’s that there is no such thing as a sure bet. I am not a defeatist BUT I do believe that should I ever get a ROYAL FLUSH in a game here, everyone will fold and all I will have to show for it will be the blinds. You know Why? Because that's poker. Win, lose or draw – it’s the way the cards fall. No sense whining about it because the next hand is coming. On a personal note, as I said, I am 54 years old. I am a Veteran of Viet Nam and a proud patriot of this old USA. In 29 years together Mrs. Duck and I have raised 4 children, and have 4 grand children to spoil and enjoy. I own my own business and spend the majority of my time trying to annoy Mrs. Well, that's just a brief glimpse into the life of Da-Duck. I guess it explains why you will find me waddling through the lobby nearly every day quacking at all my friends. Thanks for the chance to let my feathers down just a bit! I am my own Icon. I decided to tell you all of my hardships in the poker world. Anyone who has played with me has realized that I am the loosest player at the table. This fault, along with my lack of common sense has caused me to lose quite a lot of money on poker sites in the last few years. If it wasn't for my wife and girlfriends out there earning decent money in the medical field, I would not be able to continue to play with you all. I would hope that in the near future if I am at your table, you’ll FOLD. Do it for my 11 month old son, who by the way, is posted in the Lounge forum under the Backstage heading of, "Happy New Year". If you cannot find it in yourself to donate money to me, then help my wife realize her dream on having a sane man in the house. Still, one of the greatest things about hosting the WPT is seeing all the poker players coming out of online poker. These players win satellite tournaments to the WPT and really do well for themselves. They’re fantastic to watch in action. One of the incredible things about the players in that they keep playing online even when they’re at the WPT. They’ll just go to their hotel rooms in between tournaments and start playing! In upcoming WPT shows, you’ll get to see tons of these players coming from the online world and winning millions. It’s amazing to see how well they adapt to being in a real game and playing with live players. You can just see how excited they are about it. I don’t want to name any names – it would spoil upcoming shows - but there are a few online pokers that have come to the WPT and done VERY well for themselves. ~Vince Van Patten.
