For the month of January, you can join Josh Malina every Sunday at 2pm EST as he hosts the Hollywood Poker Celebrity Classic. Not only are we offering Celebrity Bounties up to $100 and an added $2,000 in cash and prizes, but for one month only, the top 5 players will split $1,000.

Get ready for next week’s Michael Woods Celebrity Invitational!
You’ll see some unlikely Stars in the next Michael Woods Celebrity Invitational. The response from the Halloween Michael Woods Celebrity Invitational was so astounding that Hollywood Poker is thrilled to host our second themed tournament: The Classic Television and Movie Star Michael Woods Celebrity Invitational.
We’re offering the same Celebrity Bounties, the same pumped-up prize pool, the same action, but with a twist. On January 12th at 10pm EST you can join your favorite Celebrities as they take on the identities of their favorite classic television and movie stars.
The success of our last themed tourney made Hollywood Poker the talk of the town. Celebrities and players alike raved about the fun, flare and star-appeal that have become inseparable from Hollywood Poker.
You’ve got just under a week to get ready!

4 days left to qualify for the $10K Freeroll Week III: Are you in?
4 days away, 4 chances to win a chunk of $10,000. Coincidence? Maybe, but as poker players, we know that a pair of 4’s can go a long way. Besides, the $10K Freeroll Week III is FREE, so stop thinking and make sure you’re there – the odds are in your favor!
The first of 4 ascending value freeroll tournaments starts on January 10th, but qualifying for this incredible shot at $10K ends on January 9th at 12am EST. Don’t worry either – qualifying has never been this easy. You don’t have to exchange any Poker Points to enter. In this week’s Spotlight, meet Tonyzorro!
My name is Tony Panzica. I am seventy-two years old and have been retired for ten years. When I retired I started oil painting as a hobby, something I always liked to do, among other things. I am also a member of Sag. Anyway I found another GREAT HOBBY that I enjoy and it's playing Texas Hold'em at Hollywood Poker.com.
Good luck to everyone - including me.
See you at the tables.

Write to Win: New Year's Resolutions!
I find it amusing that Hollywood Poker would ask us what our New Year’s Resolutions would be. Online is like a casino; you never know if the sun is up or what day of the week it is when you are chasing the last dollar. We here at Hollywood Poker don’t care about time and hence don’t notice when a new year has rolled around. So how can we make any type of resolutions?
But let’s say that we players are like the rest of the world and do make one or two or several resolutions. Mine would be the following:
• Not secretly wish that I can teleport myself to the front door of an opponent who called my huge raise pre-flop with an 8,3 (“But they were suited!”) and managed to catch a boat and let him know what I really think of his poker skills.
• Not to bang on my desk when a player forgets to hang the Away sign because nature call or because they don’t have the wherewithal to just fold and would rather watch the clock run out.
• To stop my vendetta to try to bring down players with ‘King’ ‘Pro’, or ‘Xpert’ in their name. It’s nice that their mommies think they are the best players in the world, but to advertise it?!
• My last resolution will be to continue to applaud players who play with class and say NH and TY.
I have met several great personalities, and I know I will continue to do soon this site.
Let’s all have a great year and GL at the tables.
Cheers, swankdaddy10
Congratulations swankdaddy10! You've won a tournament ticket!
Express your creativity by entering Hollywood Poker's popular Write to Win contest. If your entry is chosen as a finalist, you could win a ticket to the Michael Woods Celebrity Invitational or the Hollywood Poker Celebrity Classic.
All you have to do is write about the week’s topic and send it to hollay@hollywoodpoker.com. I’ll post all articles that qualify in the ‘Center Stage’ section of the Green Room forums where your fellow players will vote for their favorite article. Aside from the prestige and praise you’ll receive for your rhetorical brilliance, if you win you’ll also score a tournament ticket.
Next topic: Poker Icons.

Words from Vince Van Patten, WPT Host and Commentator
My New Year’s Resolutions:
- To explore new and interesting casinos around the world. - To play more old school pot limit games like I used to. There’s more of a luck factor in no limit. In pot limit, the skilled and solid players get their advantage from the weaker maniac players because the game is more structured. It’s still a bluffing game, but not a maniac game. The weak players don’t benefit from pot limit, which means I’ll be in the right percentage; I’ll have the edge. - To not play tired. - To get in the best shape of my life to play – both mentally and physically. Poker is a game of stamina. People forget that you have to be at your peak endurance to play your best. It really helps if you’re physically fit. I often go for a run before a game – it’s great to sit down at a table fueled by endorphins! - When I play big events like the WSOP, I’ll take them more seriously – I’ll get up for them and get ready to be there for 5 days. - To set a stricter limit for my losses in the side games and get up and walk when I hit it. - To never proclaim that James Woods stinks – even though he does. Just kidding – James is a world class player! Happy New Year to all my friends at Hollywood Poker!
~Vince Van Patten.
