William Chen
Before William "Bill" Chen decided to play poker full-time, he worked as a computer software designer with a PhD in mathematics. He became very active in the online poker community and has been a longtime participant in the rec.gambling.poker newsgroup. He was also a part of B.A.R.G.E; an off-shoot of rec.gambling.poker.
In 2000 Bill Chen won $41,600 in a no limit hold 'em event at the Bicycle Casino's Legends of Poker. Bill Chen’s most recent victory is easily his biggest, winning the $3000 limit hold 'em event at the World Series of Poker. In addition to going home with a much sought after WSOP bracelet, Bill Chen was able to add $343,618 in poker winnings to his bank account.
