Sam Farha
Throughout his history at the World Series of Poker Sam Farha has earned a reputation as a great Texas Hold'em player, but he has earned the most fame by playing in the WSOP's Omaha poker tournaments. While in his teens Sam Farha moved to the United States after his native Lebanon broke into civil war. After working in the business world Sam Farha started to get into poker, by 1990 he had quit his job and was playing poker full-time.
Sam Farha's biggest tournament success came at the 2003 World Series of Poker, where he finished second in the WSOP Main Event to Chris Moneymaker. He may not have won pokers most sought after prize, but he did walk away with $1,300,000 and would later beat Chris Moneymaker in a rematch hosted by PokerStars. He also finished in the money in the 2005 WSOP Main Event.
Unlike Texas Hold'em, Omaha Poker has earned Sam Farha two WSOP bracelets, the first coming during the 1996 WSOP where he won the $2500 Pot Limit Omaha tournament. More recently Sam Farha showed off his poker skills by winning this year's $5,000 Omaha Hi-Lo (8 or better) WSOP event. In addition to earning a poker purse of $398,560, Sam Farha secured his second bracelet at the World Series of Poker.
