John Francis
John Francis is a 38 year old teacher who resides in Hemet, California with his wife Trenquilla. John was originally pursuing a career in journalism, but shifted gears last year to get his teaching degree and most recently worked as a Kindergarten teacher. Currently he finds himself between teaching jobs, leaving some time for his poker interests.
No stranger to the game, John has been playing poker at low levels in casinos for 17 years. Also no stranger to the World Series of Poker, this will, in fact, be John’s third WSOP. He played in the $1,500 limit event and the $10,000 main event last year.
John cites his favorite poker accomplishment as starting a tournament (Stud Cup) with a friend that began in 1994 and still continues to this day. All told, they’ve held 53 tournaments and introduced a lot of friends to the game, especially in the pre Moneymaker days.
John’s long standing experience is his number one asset going into this years main event and Hollywood Poker hopes it will carry him all the way to the money!
