Ian Johns
Newcomer Ian Johns, a resident of Seatac, Washington, has never played in a WSOP event, and never won a WSOP bracelet before - but he has now. He's got a 100% success rate. Johns walked away with $291,755 in the $3,000 Limit Hold'em game. His final opponent was Jerrod Ankenmen. John was holding an AS 3H for the final hand, and raised pre-flop against Ankenmen. When the 9S 5C 2H flop came out, Johns must have felt pretty low, but he check-raised Ankenmen and when the A hit the turn, he went all in, only to catch a 3 on the river and winning the pot with two pair.
This is Ian Johns' first foray into the world of high-stakes poker, having devoted a lot of his time to online play previously. He hopes to play a few more No Limit Hold'em games and get into the main event.
