David Williams
David Williams went from being an outcast in the Magic Card tournament world, to a poker superstar within a couple of years. In the late 90s David Williams was doing really well in the Magic world until he was banned for cheating by bending cards. During his time away from Magic, David Williams started to play poker online and became good quickly.
After being mentored by Dutch poker legend Marcel Luske, he made his way to the 2004 World Series of Poker, by qualifying for the WSOP Main Event via an online poker tournament. David Williams ended up finishing second to another up-and-coming poker player by the name of Greg Raymer. The second-place finish in pokers biggest tournament earned David Williams $3.5 million and made him the most successful African American player in WSOP Main Event history.
Since then David Williams has been one of the more successful professional poker player in the scene. He has also caused some poker headlines with some sex tapes that surfaced which allegedly have David Williams in them.
The 2006 WSOP has been a great one for David Williams, so far he has walked away with the top prize in the $1,500 Seven-card stud tournament and the $163,118 that comes with it, not to mention a World Series of Poker bracelet.
