David Pham
David Pham fled Vietnam for America at the age of 17 in a boat carrying 145 people (9 of whom died on the journey). He now donates some of his winnings to the poor in Vietnam. Pham is the cousin of poker player Men Nguyen. After Nguyen's early success in professional poker, he opened up a cleaning business that Pham worked for. Like many of Nguyen's workers, Pham would eventually take poker lessons from him and would later be active in the tournament circuit.
As of 2006, his total live tournament winnings exceed $4 million. Pham currently resides in Bell Gardens, California, and has four children.
