 Our very own Anne Heche plays Marin Frist, a relationship-advice guru who discovers her fiancée is cheating on her. Her current book tour shattered, Anne's character makes the decision to stay in a small town in Alaska. Here in the remote edges of North America, in the town of Elmo, there are ten times as many men as women. Marin has the opportunity to pick herself up and figure out just what she has been telling people she knew all about, all along.
The show comes from one of the writers and producers of the hugely popular HBO show, "Sex in the City". Buzz is high for the new show, with many critics reacting to its off-beat, unusual style. Praise is there for the entire cast, which is varied and manages to avoid falling into the trap of being the stereotypical outdoor country bumpkins. Instead, the characters seem to have a history about them and intelligence often unrepresented in these parts of the country. Heche herself is charming, perfectly balancing newfound independence and confidence with fumbling unawareness of her surroundings.
