On Solitary v3.0, there is no alliance, no politics and no immunity, only a series of tests which challenge mental and physical toughness to the extreme. Participants can only rely on sheer will, patience and endurance. Now on its third season, the competition has added new twists and turns not found in previous seasons.
Executive produced by co-creators Daytime Emmy Award-winning producer Andrew J. Golder (Win Ben Stein's Money) and Lincoln D. Hiatt (Unan1mous) Solitary v3.0 is said to be Fox Reality's most successful original series.
HollywoodPoker caught up with the petite hottie and got the low-down on her experience on the grueling reality competition. This is what Jennifer had to say:
HP: Tell us how you got involved with the show?
Jennifer: A typical casting. I went on it, really, to see what the show was all about - more than with the idea that I would actually get the job.
HP: Were you pursuing other TV opportunities when you landed this one?
Jennifer: Yes, I love working in TV. However, I'd always shunned reality TV. I swore 8 years ago it was "just a fad". After so many years of thumbing my nose, I finally caved.
HP: Tell us about the show?
Jennifer: 9 contestants are locked in individual pods. They have no human contact for the duration of their stay. They are given instructions, etc. from a computer generated voice called "Val". They distort your sense of time, they give you horrible food (if you even get food), you sleep on the floor with no pillow or blanket (when they let you sleep), they make you endure mental, physical, and emotional torture.......The winner gets $50K. It's Fox Reality's highest rated show. It takes a completely insane person to do this. I actually LOVED it!
HP: What were your expectations going into the show?
Jennifer: I actually thought I was going to freak out from claustrophobia!
HP: What was filming a reality show like? |
|
Jennifer: It wasn't like the average reality show where you have cameras in your face, etc. In this show, you know where cameras might be hidden, but I found out there were cameras in places I'd never suspected. They're not in your face though. It's the ultimate voyeur's dream! But as a contestant, you're really not thinking that you're being filmed.
HP: Now that you've wrapped the show, how do you think you'll be portrayed?
Jennifer: I'm a little nervous about that actually. These people were extraordinarily nice to me during filming and afterward, but ratings are ratings. You just never know how they're going to edit it.
HP: Would you do it again?
Jennifer: Absolutely!!! It was the second most amazing experience of my life!
HP: Do you plan to watch the show?
Jennifer: Um.....YEAH!!!
 |
HP: How do you think you look on TV?
Jennifer: I've seen a couple of the promos for it and I look like shit. But seriously, no bath for days on end, wearing the same stinky clothes, no make-up, plus it was suffocatingly hot in the pod, not the greatest lighting, and a camera on EVERY angle....there's no hiding anything!
HP: Have you received any benefits since the filming?
Jennifer: I think the MOST beneficial aspect of doing this show is the feeling I came away with when I was done...and the things I realized about myself by being forced to be totally alone, and overcoming challenges I never thought I could. That was a pretty cool "benefit".
Jennifer: I'm talking with ABC about another show....keeping fingers crossed for that one! I was offered my own show on a really cool station recently. Then there are a couple of environmentally based websites and companies that I'm discussing spokesperson jobs with. I'm looking at a couple of small parts in some decent features and doing some guest host spots. This year has kicked off with a serious BANG!
HP: Yes, Jennifer, we hear it loud and clear! All the best to you and we can't wait to see more of you on our screens. We'll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled!
