HollywoodPoker Celebrity Player Nick Cassavetes, after phenomenal success with The Notebook,
takes creative helm in My Sister's Keeper as screenplay writer and as the film's director.
In this cinematographic adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Jodi Picoult,
Nick directs Cameron Diaz (Charlie's Angels), Jason Patric (Speed 2: Cruise Control),
Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), Joan Cusack (Confessions of a Shopaholic),
Sofia Vassilieva (Medium) and others in a moving tale about the trials and tribulations that rock a family who,
in desperation, genetically engineer a 'harvest child', Anna, to be brought into the world as an organ donor
and bone marrow match for Kate, her sibling battling leukaemia.
The consequences of the parents action ultimately set off ethical and moral questions as well as an unprecedented
court case, all of which threaten the very core of their family relationship when the donor child sues the parents
for emancipation with the aid of a lawyer. The heartrending drama reveals surprising truths that challenge everyone's
perception of love and loyalty and gives renewed meaning to the definition of healing. My Sister's Keeper is out in
theatres June 26th.
