Neil Patrick Harris nominated for the Golden Globe Awards 2010
Hollywood celebrity player Neil Patrick Harris is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role at the Golden Globe Awards 2010. This nomination is for his role as Barney Stinson on the CBS television series "How I Met Your Mother." Harris is the only non-HBO actor in the category.
According to The Early Show, Barney is one of the main reasons that the show has been a success. Barney is the most popular character in the show and those characters with the best "catchphrases" are often the most likeable. Harris desbribes Barney to Deseret Morning News as a man who "likes to create crazy situations and then sit back and watch it all go down."
Harris has been nominated twice before for "Doogie Howser, M.D." and "Clara's Heart." "Being recognized for your achievements never gets old," he says. "Being nominated for a big award is never a 'whatever' situation." He received a Golden Icon Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Comedy Television Series in 2010. This time though, he doesn't think he has a good shot against Jeremy Piven and Tom Wilkinson.
Harris provides the voice for Dick Grayson (Nightwing) for the animated movie "Batman: Under the Red Hood," which will be released July 27th, 2010. He also directs a rock musical, "Rent" and guest stars in the TV series Glee in an episode called "Dream On."
