HollywoodPoker Celebrity Player and Tinsel Town veteran, Ken Howard is set to star in poignant drama, Grey Gardens, based on the lives of the eccentric first cousin and aunt of then US first lady, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who lived in their dilapidated summer' mansion - Grey Gardens, after withdrawing from New York high society.
Having lost all contact with the outside world, the duo spent their days in less than humane conditions brought on by their dwindling wealth and sanity, sharing their 28- room home with more than 50 cats, raccoons, piles of garbage, human and animal excrement, without even having basic utilities.
It was years before the health department found out of their existence, after which it didn't take long for their story to hit the front pages of every newspaper, local and international – highlighting the fact that they were related to one of the country's most influential women, of that time. Just when authorities were going to drive them out of their home', Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' graciously stepped in and financed the cleanup of Grey Gardens, restoring it to liveable conditions.
Here's what Ken had to say about the movie, when we caught up with him recently, "For me personally, I loved that whole time period. It reminded me of my youth - the Bohemian era, the dancers, the jazz, and the songs of Cole Porter. I remember at one point looking into the mirror in costume and thought, "there's my father." I was dressed just like him including the Fedora! It was an era gone by that I think many people will enjoy having an opportunity to see."
He also adds, "I loved working with Jessica (Lange) and Drew (Barrymore). The way they went about defining their characters and what they brought to the film was marvellous. I would work with them again in a heartbeat."
Ken will star alongside Drew Barrymore (Music & Lyrics), Jessica Lange (Big Fish) and Jeanne Tripplehorn (The Trap) in this awesome movie, set to debut in cinemas on November 7th!
