From Quentin Tarantino comes ensemble war film Inglourious Basterds set in Nazi-occupied France during World War II where a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are assembled by Lieutenant Aldo Raine. Chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis, the Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl Shosanna Dreyfus who witnessed the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa. Shosanna fled to Paris after narrowly escaping the brutal murder. She has changed her identity and is now planning revenge as she runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by Raine's squad. Joining forces with German actress and undercover agent Bridget von Hammersmark, they set on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich.
Here's what Samm told HollywoodPoker about his experience on this project:
"Inglourious Basterds is the best movie I've ever been mostly cut out of! But seriously, check it out. It's ridiculously awesome. The film was probably going to be 5 hours long if Quentin didn't make some heavy edits. Sadly, the "Basterds" storyline took the brunt of the cuts. However, the "French Girl" storyline is AMAZING, and I really think people will love it."
Samm is cast alongside numerous Hollywood heavyweights and international movie stars such as Brad Pitt (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Mélanie Laurent (The Business Trip), Diane Kruger (National Treasure: The Book of Secrets) and Mike Myers (Shrek the Third). This acclaimed war drama is set to charge into theatres this August 21st.
Some other projects Samm has been working on include the dry corporate comedy about cube jockeys who may or may not be incognito aliens from other planets Drones which one casting agent describes as The Office meets Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Samm will also appear in Columbus Circle alongside fellow HollywoodPoker Celebrity Player Kevin Pollak, Selma Blair (Hellboy II: The Golden Army), Jason Lee (My Name is Earl), Giovanni Ribisi (Public Enemies),and Beau Bridges (Max Payne).
