HOT! HOT! HOT! Christina Hall was raising temperatures at the World Series of Poker in Vegas!
We're gushing with pride as we recap how our very own HollywoodPoker Girl, Miss Christina Hall battled the professionals at the 2008 WSOP that ended recently in Las Vegas!
Christina made it strong at the championships with an impressive 62,000 chip stack in 75th position on the first day after playing against Finnish poker pro, Adonis.
Christina was psyched and ready to make more money on Day Two, where she was up against a stiffer crowd of professional players. Entering with a keen eye and a steady hand, we witnessed her take on her final table of the day, raising her wager with caution right from the flop with a pocket pair and the community cards offering no help. She pushed on and played her hand tight, raising her now lone opponent at the turn that contributed a community card to her favour (and delight), giving Christina an incredible Three-Of-A-Kind hand PLUS added hope!
With upped confidence that came with her incredible hand, just ONE opponent stood between her finishing the second day of the WSOP's in glorious triumph. Christina goes all-in at the river and her opponent calls, increasing the pot generously. The dealer reveals the final card...giving Christina an awesome FOUR-OF-A-KIND, almost certain win! Trying hard to conceal her joy, she leaves it to her opponent to FOLD, but he doesn't!
It's showdown time, she's certain he's bluffing... THEN he reveals a higher Four-Of-A-Kind hand, beating Christina by a cinch, showing her the door out of the WSOP!!! Imagine that?! Our girl made history by LOSING with what must be the World Series of Poker's WORST BAD BEAT STORY EVER!!! If you think you have a bad beat story that could top that, we ask you to write in to us and we'll send you an exclusive HollywoodPoker premium! We mean it!
Here's what our beauty with brain and card shark skills had to say about her experience at the WSOP's when we caught up with her recently...
How does it feel going that far in this year's World Series Of Poker Main Event? I was very excited about making it this far in the WSOP because I was playing against some of the best celebrity poker players right from the beginning!
What was your journey to the WSOP like? It was a little nerve racking at first, but I stayed with my game plan about playing poker. I was trying to get familiar with the people I was playing in order to reading them.
What would you say was your best hand throughout the WSOP craze? I was playing against three people who made decent bets from the start. I had pocket 10's and flopped 2 more 10's so I was pretty excited....I played the game right bluffed the other player making the pot a decent size, and ended up winning!!!!!!!
Did you have a poker practice schedule :)? I would say I have a practice schedule, but I play a few times a week online as well as playing live poker weekly in Vegas where I live.
How has life been since bagging a spot as Miss December in our 2006 HollywoodPoker Girl Calendar? I am very honoured I was a part of calendar girl team for HollywoodPoker. When I play against people who are actually familiar with online poker, I get some acknowledgment from that which I enjoy. Besides, without HollywoodPoker, I am not sure if I would be playing poker as much and I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!
Do you have any poker tips or pointers you'd like to share with poker guppies out there? When I first started, I just remembered telling myself not to be intimidated just because I was a beginner. Trust me, they will learn over time the do's and don'ts about poker....Just remember....It is ok to take a chance sometime, I do!!!!!!!!!!!
Two years ago you told us that in five years, you'd see yourself as a full time model and actress. We're midway through right now :) are there new goals you've set for yourself? Perhaps becoming a professional poker player :)? I have continued to do modelling fulltime for the past several years now, and I enjoy it don't get me wrong. I will admit that I have taken poker a little more seriously and I enjoy it... Who knows, I might make a name out of myself one day through many poker players eyes!!!!
You'll be able to catch Christina and other HollywoodPoker celebrity players at our Celebrity Bounty Series tournaments.
