Kicking off at Commerce Casino, Los Angeles were more than 100 celebrities and industry VIPs playing for the 8th Annual World Poker Tour Invitational. The Texas Hold'Em tournament raised $109,700 for a non-profit organization for the economically disadvantaged and homeless individuals, Chrysalis. 567 players pulled up a chip for free poker cash. Willie Garson wins 16th place with fellow Hollywood celebrity Kirk Acevedo, who busted out at 5th place.
Willie Garson is currently busy with his TV series, “White Collar” and his advocacy work with Alliance for Children's Rights, which prompted him to build two homes in New Orleans for charity. He appears again on the big screen as Stanford Blatch, Carrie Bradshaw's gay best friend in the 15 year old Sex and the City “Bonanza” (as what the cast aptly calls the show's tremendous success). The second SATC movie is out in May 2010, opening with an extravagant marriage ceremony between Stanford and Charlotte's (Kirstin Davis) best friend, Anthony Marantino.
Catch Willie Garson in the movie Sex and the City 2, with co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Failure to Launch), Kim Cattrall (Crossroads), Cynthia Nixon (Little Manhattan), Kirstin Davis (Melrose Place), Chris Noth (Law & Order), Mario Catone (Men in Trees) and John Corbett (My Big Fat Greek Wedding). It is written and directed by Michael Patrick King.
Garson also starred in iconic TV shows, “Family Ties” and “Cheers.” He appeared in “Star Trek: Voyager” and played Lee Harvey Oswald in “Quantum Leap,” “Ruby,” and “MadTV.”
