Biography
Winner of the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her role in the hit mini-series, Rich Man Poor Man, and nominated a total of three times for the Golden Globe, including for her starring role in Will There Really Be A Morning: The Autobiography of Frances Framer, as well as garnering two Emmy nominations, Susan Blakely has been working in films, television and on stage for many years after a career as one of the world's top fashion models. She was often on the cover of magazines such as Vogue, Bazaar, Brides, Town and Country. She was also on the cover of TV Guide for being the most sought after actress for t.v. commercials. She also won the California Independent Film Festival's Best Actress Award for her leading role in the recent movie, Hungry Hearts.
Blakely currently stars in the feature film, Hate Crime, as well as the Lifetime film, Perfect Neighbor.
Blakely recently starred in the world premiere of DIVA! at the La Jolla Playhouse, for playwright Howard M. Gould. Blakely's work in DIVA! won high praise in the San Diego Union Tribune which said, "Blakely's performance never lets up. Her 'Deanna' is a force of nature...amoral, unstoppable...Blakely seduces us with her charm...Blakely's elegant, arrogant character is the engine that drives the show."
