Sam McMurray
Biography
Sam McMurray, a veteran in Tinsel Town has been a professional actor for over 30 years. Born and raised in New York City, he began his career primarily on stage until the opportunity for film presented itself in 1986 through his role in "Raising Arizona", "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and "The Wizard". Sam quickly gained popularity when he became a regular on the multiple-award winning "Tracey Ullman Show" that led him into vocal work in the early episodes of "The Simpsons". Today, he quips that he had great fun starring in the animated television hit series, "Dinosaurs",as the voice of Roy which ran for four years on ABC.
His booming career solidified his star status in the industry and garnered him roles in feature movies including, "Drop Dead Gorgeous", "Mod Squad", "Getting Even with Dad" and "L.A. Story" and having lead roles popular television serials including "Likely Suspects", "A League of Their Own" . Owning the television screens, Sam also garnered reoccurring roles in, "King of Queens", "Freaks and Geeks", "Chicago Hope", "Friends", "Who's the Boss", "Stand by Your Man" and "Medicine Ball". Sam's guest appearances on the other hand are too numerous to list, a few of them however are cult favourites, "The Sopranos" and "NYPD Blue" and "Boston Legal". This versatile actor has even ventured into the computer world with his voice role as the "BBC Newscaster/American Newscaster" in the Command and Conquer Generals game.
