Bill Smitrovich
Biography
While Bill started his acting career relatively late at age 33, he has more than made up for any lost time in the three decades since. He is a familiar face in box office smashing features such as Seven Pounds, Eagle Eye, Iron Man, Thirteen Days, Air Force One and Independence Day.
His career didn't begin on the big screen though. Bill taught acting at the University of Massachusetts and then made an impression on stage in the world-premiere of Arthur Miller's, The American Clock and The Elephant Man. He marked his transition from stage to television as Det. Danny Krychek in the TV movie Crime Story. Television success followed with Crime Story the TV series where he reprised his role. Then came recurring roles in notable series such as Life Goes On,
Millennium, A Nero Wolfe Mystery, and The Practice. Bill has scores of guest spots on TV's most popular series including Castle, Boston Legal, Without a Trace, Desperate Housewives, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Numb3rs, NYPD Blue, and Nash Bridges.
Bill has also worked with other Hollywood heavyweights, Morgan Freeman and John Cusack in The Contract, Ben Kingsley and Annette Bening in Mrs. Harris, James Woods and Alec Baldwin in Ghosts of Mississippi, Catherine Zeta Jones in The Phantom, Johnny Depp in Nick of Time, Dudley Moore in Crazy People, and Tom Hanks in Splash.
