odds
- The chances of making a hand vs. the chances of not making a hand.
odds against
- Number of failures per success.
odds for
- The number of attempts per success.
off-suit
- Cards that are of a different suit.
on the button
- Being the last player to act in a betting round.
on tilt
- A game where players can bet as much as they like on any round of betting.
on end
- A four card straight open only on one end (ex. jack, queen, king, ace).

open card
- A card that is dealt face up.
open end
- A four card sequence that can be made straight by two different value cards.
open game
- A game in which anyone can play.
open pair
- A pair that has been dealt face up.
open poker
- A poker game that requires some of the cards to be dealt face up.
open seat
- A chair available for another player.
open-handed
- A category of games characterized by a part of each player’s hand being exposed.
opener
- The player who makes the first voluntary bet – as opposed to forced bet.
opener button
- A button used to indicate who opened a particular pot in a draw game.
outdraw
- When a player beats another player by drawing a superior hand.
outs
- The number of cards left in the deck that will improve your hand.
overcall
- To call a bet after one or more players have already called.
overcards
- Cards that have a superior rank to a pair.
overpair
- A pocket pair higher than any of the cards on the table.
